Michaela holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado Denver, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude, and completed her Master’s Degree in Christian Counseling through Faith International Seminary in Tacoma, Washington.  She also completed her doctorate from the same Seminary in Intercultural Studies and the focus of her research was regarding leadership and emotional maturity.  Michaela was a homeschooling mom for 13 years and was on the mission field in Uganda for 5 years.  She has eight children, 4 of whom are adopted. Michaela enjoys working with couples, families, and children in counseling but also does various work with individuals.   She has completed various levels of training in Gottman Marriage Techniques, Affair Recovery, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-Focused-CBT, and is a Certified Trauma Professional.

Michaela has a passion for helping equip people to deepen their walk with Christ, and seeing people reach their full potential in Christ to see this scripture come to fruition: “To comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit.” -Isaiah 61:2-3
